Walnut (Akhrot in Urdu and Doon/ Doun in Kashmiri) – Nature’s Nourishment from the Himalayan Valleys
Grown in the lush, temperate regions of Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Kupwara, Baramulla, and Srinagar, our Kashmiri walnuts are prized for their exceptional quality, rich flavor, and wholesome nutrition. Harvested during the peak of summer (August to September), these walnuts are naturally ripened on long-lived, towering trees that reach heights of 25–40 meters, some living over 200 years.
Each walnut is large and rounded, typically 4–6 cm in diameter and weighing between 16–25 grams, offering a generous and satisfying crunch. The trees thrive in select habitats with warm, sheltered conditions and a long growing season, ensuring the nuts develop their full flavor and nutrient profile.
- Packed with healthy fats, protein, and antioxidants, Kashmiri walnuts are incredibly versatile:
- Enjoy them raw or toasted as a daily snack
- Add to desserts like walnut pie, fudge, cakes, and baklava
- Use as a topping for ice cream or salads Or make a traditional spicy chutney with green chillies
Whether for health, taste, or tradition, our walnuts bring the richness of Himalayan soil to your table—naturally grown, hand-harvested, and full of goodness.
From tree to table – pure, powerful, and packed with flavor.
